Going Nuts?

It started out innocently enough. I was working full time for a wonderful man in a lovely office, all my own, full of brand new spiffy office furniture with a huge wall of glass windows for me to look outside and watch a yellow cat frolick in an upstairs window of the apartments next door. I worked hard when I had something to do and had lots of responsibilities - but every now and then I would take a break and read a knitting blog. Or two. Or twenty. I was a lurker because to add a comment they always asked for YOUR BLOG address - and I didn't have a knitting blog! I didn't know how to do that! So I read and read and read learned all about knitting and one day I really wanted to comment on something so I bit the bullet and signed up with the same blog host as Mason-Dixon Knitting....where I have been ever since.

(Hi Becky!! This is a truly amazing story all by itself because Becky lives in Paris and showed up in my store last summer not having a clue who I was and it was a total coincidence that I figured out who she was! It REALLY is a small world.)

Uh...where was I going with this.....? Sorry. Sometimes I will start writing and then a customer will come in - can you believe it ? I have to stop blogging and wait on them!! Outrageous! ha ha - I'M KIDDING! Don't throw yarn at me!

Oh yeah, anyway, I started out as an innocent knitting blog reader and ended up owning a yarn shop! And last night I had a dream about a pattern. So I came to the shop and started working on it - version 1.0 is done and needs a few changes but all in all it came out pretty well.

Here is what I started with:
Pattern idea? Maybe?

But I'm worried.
Do you guys dream about knitting or am I in way too deep?

Okay. Back to business. Sorry we we missed some folks on Easter Sunday but my Dad came up for the weekend and I needed to spend the day with him. David took him to the Texas State Museum on Saturday (God, I love that man!) and they had a fine time. Then he took him out to the Salt Lick and they brought back dinner. Yum-O. This was the first time he has been on a trip by himself since 1968. Can you imagine? It was a hard weekend for both of us and I'm glad he was not by himself.

(I couldn't find a recipe for something and SO BADLY needed to pick up the phone and say "Hey Mom, ........... )

It sucked so bad.

I dream about knitting often, especially when I am stuck. I will wake up at like 3AM and know EXACTLY what to do to fix the problem! I think true knitters just have knitting (spinning & dyeing too) on the brain constantly. I can fully admit that I might be a tad obsessed :) And well you OWN a yarn shop so you have every right to have knitting on the brain constantly!!

Looking forward to seeing v2 of the pattern! Love the drawings!!

OMG I so want to see your pattern. I think you may have succumbed to "Yarn on the Brain," the cure is to open a LYS...oh wait ;)

So glad your Dad was able to spend the holiday with you guys. The first year of holidays are so rough. I know far too well that one from the respective years after both my Dad and Grandpa passed. Many Hugs.

p.s. - our ribs are better ;)

I haven't dreamed about knitting yet. I'm jealous! I would take it as a very good omen.

I feel your frustration about wanting to ask your mom something and then realizing you can't anymore. It's a horrible feeling. But it will get a little easier.

I can't believe how long it's been! Everything happens for a reason. I can't wait to get back to Austin and clear out some of that Cascade and Malabrigo from your shop. Be prepared, my dear!

I'm glad that you spent Easter weekend with your dad. I can't imagine how hard it must've been for you all. Hang in there.
