And we're back!

Jeeze, you'd think as slow as things have been in the world of yarn sales that I could be blogging three or four times a day - but no, I've just been knitting the hours away on Fletcher's Weasley Sweater - that I finally finished on Saturday.

I gave up on the true duplicate stitching after three attempts and just did the outline - I wanted to get it up in the store for Harry Potter month before the month was already over! I may get brave and try it again - it will be months before he can wear it anyway!

Next up: Puppy News
We were all ready last weekend to go to Houston and bring back Hank's sister when I got an email from the vet saying there was an emergency - it turns out the puppy has a genetic disorder called Legg-Calve-Perthes - it is a condition that causes a loss of blood to the bone and the bone dies off - maybe Staci's foot caught it from the puppy?? - anyway they needed to do surgery to fix the bone and a few weeks of rehab on her back leg - I felt a lot better about the Dr. doing the rehab since she has been showing her already and she trusts her. Anyway, we will probably pick her up on my last Sunday off in July.

We are still debating her name - So far the names we have gone through have been: Rita (obvious choice - Sorry - Hurricane Rita killed it's chances) Katie or Kate (You've Got Mail - still a front runner) Jenny (Forrest Gump) Faye (That Thing You Do) Annie (Sleepless in Seattle) Jessie (Toy Story) Maddy - this was also a front runner and there are two main female characters named Maddy or Madison (Splash and The Man with One Red Shoe). We just haven't been able to make the Tom Hanks connection. We also spent several days looking over Scottish girls names and the only one we all liked was Paisley.
So, here's the deal - for now. I decided that since she might be a little unstable at first that we will name her Grace. There's no connection to anything - she will be her very own person. She already has a long registered name and they have been calling her Billie - her mom's side of the family all have names that have to do with jazz musicians and she was named after Billie Holliday. For those of you who have not seen her HERE is a picture of her that is currently on the cover of Westie Imprint Magazine. Yes, she's already a cover girl!

We are all ready - today I got a matching set of collars for her and Hank to wear:

Aren't they cute!!

Amanda and I had a wonderful birthday, including a billion nice comments on Facebook - especially Franklin's.....hey...where are those pictures anyway? We had dinner at McCormick and Schmick's and I got to get my Gulf Coast shrimp fix for a while. YUMmmmmmm.

The next day was Hanksgiving - a new holiday for Tom's 53rd Birthday that I learned about on Twitter - someone in the UK whose twitter name is Hanksgiving spent the day sending me messages and pictures of their Hanksgiving Tree. I finally topped him/her with a picture of my dog named after him...it was funny and I did see a video of Tom Hanks playing the ukulele that was great.

This week will be all about getting ready for our Christmas in July Ravelry Meet-Up this Saturday - Come and meet Sarah - the newest member of the Ravelry team. (She goes by Onestitchshort on Ravelry) She will be hanging out almost all day long - bring your Ravelry shirts and bags and have her sign them. We will also have a big display showing items that make good Christmas presents so everyone can get started on their Gift Knitting! There will also be Gingerbread cookies and Christmas Music - and lots of ice cold lemonade. Come and show Sarah how much we all LOVE Ravelry!
