Puppy Crazy!

Wow, we've been busy! All those people out there who said two puppies are actually easier than just one puppy? Bullsh*t! Geeze, everything takes twice as long, especially when one walks much slower that the other one but wants to try and keep up ..and the other one has to stop and pee on every freaking blade of grass in the universe - after a short walk down the driveway I am a tangled mess of pink and blue leashes. But they're having fun!! That's all that matters!

So, introducing Ashcot's Billie Holiday - or as we are calling her: Gracie

Twinsies!

Gracie has claimed the bean bag chair

Since coming home with us she has had three baths and a trip to The Dirty Dog to get her hair cut - for the first time. (That was obviously traumatic since show dogs don't get haircuts - they get hand stripped and cut with scissors so the clippers freaked her out. It will be a slow process getting her used to "civilian life") Her feet and her face are still brown - the vet told us it was from her licking her feet but I haven't checked with anyone in the Westie Forum on Ravelry about how to fix it - that's where I usually get all my info. She has also decided that if there is an available lap anywhere she WILL be in it. She is very different from Hank in that respect - he's not a snuggler and she definitely is! She has had lots of fun playing with all of Hank's old toys that he had decided were old news and now he's just alittle bit more interested in them again - to the point that there have been a few growling episodes but Gracie usually wins -she's used to being with other dogs so she knows if she wants something she has to speak up - Of course, this leaves Hank in total shock and I can just imagine him thinking "Fine! Have it! I have way cooler stuff than that hidden in places you'll never find!" He's either thinking that or he's thinking "Fine, you spoiled baby, you're getting all the attention anyway...punk..." and then he goes on about his business. Her incision is healing just fine and she is having no problem keeping up with Hank in the back yard - in fact we gave them both a bath last night and they spent the next 30 minutes running in and out of the house in a big circle - we felt like we were in the middle of a horse race! It was so funny. I have got to get it on video.

Nights have been especially difficult because if one of them wants to go outside the OTHER one wants to go too and then getting them both back to bed has been almost impossible. It's times like these that I can just imagine people who have twins probably wish they could return one - especially at night.

We will be outside tonight for as long as I can stay awake - because Tom has proclaimed tonight the night to watch The Perseid meteor shower And you know if Tom says to do it, I do it. And you should too!!

So, everything is fine around here we've just been twice as busy as normal!
Things are finally picking up at the store - July was absolutely dead!

All of you knitters out here who are afraid to seam things together need to come to The Crochet Dude's Beyond The Basics Crochet class on the 22nd - he will be teaching everyone how to seam with a crochet hook! That and lots more! Come on, all you people who crochet - everyone always complains that knitting stores are not crochet friendly and we're bringing in a crochet Rock Star!! Call the store to sign up - we are holding the classes at a maximum of 15 because the 20 we let in for Franklin's class was just too crowded!!

That weekend we will also be celebrating Gracie's first birthday!
All PINK yarn will be on sale 10% off if you can save 10% off all yarn if you bring in a donation for the Central Texas SPCA - they need canned food, any chewies or treats, tennis balls and blankets or towels.

Next month will be our Second Anniversary and we will have Amy Singer here!
We're making plans for a big sing-a-long on Sunday evening or afternoon - anyone out there play the ukulele or know anyone who does? Have them contact me. Amy will be teaching two classes that weekend so keep the calendar free for the 12th and 13th.

Another Calendar Entry for you: We are also hard at work on plans for the Best Little Yarn Crawl in Texas - it will be October 9th through the 12th - start making your carpool plans right now!

More to come soon on the party plans! Now I have actual knitting to get back to!
